It's been a few months since my last update and I have to say my teeth look great! The upper and lower teeth are all pretty straight now. Not perfect, just pretty good. I love looking at them. I had an adjustment appointment today. I have 'turbos' on my teeth now to stop me from biting down on my brackets. They're going to take getting use to that's for sure. They stop me from biting down completely so chewing will be a challenge and my they block some of my tongue movement so talking is kind of hard. I'm sure they'll seem normal enough in a few days though. My other new addition are my elastics. They're going to get rid of my overjet. I'm excited about finally having them. Until next time . . .

Well unfortunately my lower teeth aren't moving quite as quickly as my uppers did but they still look a hundred times better!!!

We placed my lower braces today. Once again, eating is weird. I'll have to re-adjust but I'm sure it won't take long. I'm definitely getting more and more excited for my new smile. Straightening my top teeth gave me a pretty big overbite but now that I have my lower braces on we can fix it. I'll have to start wearing elastics to fix it but it will be well worth it. They keep telling me that the more I wear the elastics the faster my overjet will decrease. I can guarantee I will ALWAYS have those elastics on once I get them.

I've had my upper braces on for a little while now. Things are already moving around and looking great! I can't wait to get my lower braces on and get those teeth nice and straight too.

So it's been almost a week now and I'm happy to report I've adjusted well. They felt a little weird at first but now I barely notice them. I'm also happy to report that I haven't really had any pain or discomfort with them. Eating was a challenge but of course I love food too much to let myself go hungry! So far, the experience has been great and although I have to keep them on for a couple years I am excited about my new smile.

I'm scheduled to get my braces today! We're starting with just the upper ones. I have to admit I'm both excited and nervous about it. I can't wait to have my beautiful smile but I'm not looking forward to the treatment time. Two years of special care seems like so much right. I know it'll fly by and be worth it in the end though. I'll keep you posted on the progress throughout.
